The new 6.7 million dollar public library in Manhattan’s Battery Park bridges the ancient and advanced. The library, which was 11 years in the making, is green.

The New York Times reports that recycled materials can be found throughout the 10,00o0 square foot structure, including old truck tires and a staircase made from recycled glass.
